About Nyavisa Technologies
We are a data protection and IT infrastructure firm built on one idea: a backup is only worth what it can actually restore. Everything we design starts at the recovery and works backwards.
Why Nyavisa exists
Almost every business we talk to already has backups. Something is running, the dashboard is green, and nobody has had a reason to look closer in years. That is exactly the problem. A backup job reporting success tells you a file was copied. It does not tell you the copy can be read, that the system it came from can be rebuilt, or how many hours of work sit between the last good copy and right now.
Those gaps only surface on the worst possible day. A server dies, a mailbox gets wiped by mistake, ransomware encrypts a file share — and the conversation turns to two numbers almost nobody has been given: how long until we are working again, and how much work did we just lose. Those numbers have names, RTO and RPO, and a protection plan that has never defined them is not a plan. It is a hope.
Nyavisa Technologies was founded in 2023 to put real figures against those two questions before anything breaks, and then to prove them with restores that get tested rather than assumed.
How we work
Every engagement starts with a consultation and an honest look at what you already have. We would rather tell you your current setup is sound than sell you something you do not need.
From there the pattern is consistent:
- Establish what is actually protected. What is being backed up, what is quietly being missed, where the copies live, and whether anything has ever been restored from them.
- Agree the targets. Not every system deserves the same recovery speed. We work out with you what each one is worth in downtime and in lost work, then set RTO and RPO accordingly.
- Design to those targets. The architecture follows the numbers — on-premises, cloud, or both — with immutable copies wherever ransomware is the risk being managed.
- Test the restore. A recovery plan nobody has ever rehearsed is a document, not a capability.
- Keep watching. Backups drift. New systems appear, old ones change, and jobs fail quietly. Protection is maintained, not installed.
What we do
Our work covers protecting business data and the infrastructure underneath it:
- NAS systems and storage — design, deployment and management of network attached storage, onsite and remote.
- Backup as a Service — managed, automated backup where restores are verified instead of hoped for.
- Disaster Recovery as a Service — recovery planning built around defined RTO and RPO targets.
- SaaS data protection — independent backup for Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and similar platforms, where the provider protects the service but not your data.
- Identity and access management — controlling who can reach which systems, which is where a great many breaches actually begin.
- Ransomware defense — copies held so they cannot be altered or deleted inside their retention window, even by someone with administrator access.
Where we work
Most of this is delivered remotely, for clients anywhere in the United States. A recovery plan does not need somebody in the room to be designed, built, monitored or tested, and this work is better done by the right people than the nearest ones.
When a job needs hands on hardware — a NAS install, an on-premises server, network infrastructure — we work on-site across Gwinnett County and the Atlanta metro area.
Who we work with
Professional-services firms, healthcare practices, and small businesses where data protection is nobody's full-time job. Companies running an aging on-premises server somebody else set up years ago and nobody has touched since. Teams that assumed “it's all in the cloud” also meant “it's backed up.” If losing a day's work would genuinely hurt, we are built for you.
Who you'll work with
Nyavisa is a small team covering the two disciplines this work actually needs: backup and recovery engineering, and network and infrastructure. Everyone who touches client systems or data — staff and specialist contractors alike — works under a signed non-disclosure agreement.
Carl Dixon Jr. leads every engagement, with specialists brought in as a project calls for them. You get one person accountable for your recovery plan and a team behind it — not a ticket queue where nobody owns the outcome.
Carl's career began in the U.S. Air Force as a flight simulator technician, maintaining the systems aircrews trained on.
Over a decade in IT, including managing the data center for a South Florida city government — public-sector infrastructure, where systems have to stay up for residents and emergency services, records are held to statutory retention schedules, and recovery plans are audited rather than assumed. He later moved into consulting for small and mid-sized businesses.
He holds a bachelor's degree in information technology, and has held CCNA, AWS Solutions Architect and Linux certifications over the course of his career — covering the networking, cloud and systems layers a recovery plan has to span.
He started Nyavisa to bring that same discipline to businesses that have never had it — companies that believed they were protected, right until a restore was needed and the plan didn't hold.
Technology partners
Nyavisa Technologies is a member of the Veeam ProPartner Network. We are deliberately not a single-vendor shop — the right platform depends on what you are protecting and what you need back first — but it does mean we build on enterprise-grade backup technology rather than whatever came bundled with the hardware.
Not sure where your business really stands? We will look at what you have now, tell you what it would genuinely recover, and show you the gaps — free, with no pressure to buy anything.
